One in a million that anybody remembers this. I read a book in the 90s where the female heroine had hidden a figurine by Michelangelo as a child but didn't remember doing so. Book was set in the modern day where she fell in love with someone from the family that had owned the statue.

Back in the early 2000s I was in like 6th or 7th grade and our English teacher had us read this book. Unfortunately I can’t remember what book it is.

All I do remember is that it was about a young boy who is in like a modern setting, who encounters this strange house that (if I am remembering correctly) was kind of alive?? And he meets some peculiar people. One of the people he meets is this young girl who he befriends and they work together to (possibly) escape the house?? I remember a random scene when the boy or the girl was trapped in a hole? The story gives me this Coraline feel about it. Kind of creepy.

I wish I could remember more about the story so that I could describe it better but I can’t. I need help finding out what this story was.

Anddddd that’s about it haha lemme know if anyone knows this book! Thanks!

Hi, I am looking for a book I read between 2001-2007. I don't remember a great deal about it however the main character (a young woman) had prematurely silver hair and needed to keep it hidden under a veil at all times for fear of being accused of being a witch. It is set in medieval England and she marries a man whom she ends up falling in love with (his name may have been myles? I think his first wife and baby died from the pox and his face is scarred). I'm pretty sure the cover has a base colour of grey.

Thank you.

Hi everyone! I'm trying to recall the name of a dark fantasy series I read as a teen in the 90s, but I'm pretty sure the books had been around a while at that point. The protagonist in the first book was a male child, and I have very vivid recollections in that book of his being chased by a dark figure on a horse. I recall some sort of time-travel like elements, and at one point he escapes through a hidden door in a fireplace I think. I really thought the series title had the word "Dark" in it, and I feel like "Time" might have also been in there somewhere, maybe as a title word in the book but not the series, but I've been unable to find anything in my google searches. Any suggestions of titles to consider would be appreciated!

Hello! I'm looking for a book about a young girl adopted? apprenticed? by an older, somewhat cranky man. I can't remember if he was a mage. The most important aspect of the book was her exploration of a rather odd subterranean world. I remember (I think) something about knives, shopping in a marketplace, and maybe a basket. She had a rather bleak existence, with some sort of redemption at the end?

I’m trying to find a book I read about 2014 but was probably published a while before that, the front cover looked cold and icy, it was textures and blue, I can remember something about winter in the name of it. From what I can remember, the book started with a group of people travelling away from their village because it was being sort of, invaded? And they all had weird names like stark or raven, and there were also like ninja kind of people and they kidnapped one of the girls and held her in a canyon type thing where she was to maybe have kids? I don’t really know if any of this is true or I’ve just made it up so :’)

My boyfriend remembers a picture book about animals that at first he said were dinosaurs, but later thought maybe they were creatures or monsters. They were mean to each other, some ate others, some breathed fire, and in the end a flower grew (maybe out of a fire) that they all hated. He read this in New England, USA. Hoping to surprise him for Christmas so any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Looking to find a sci-fi book series i read as a kid. The premise as i can remember it, is a boy that leads a troubled life and when he dreams, he is pulled into these dystopian/nightmares of some sort.

The plot revolves around him collecting relics in these dreams, but i forget why.

The covers of the first three books (as i remember) is a Clocktower, the second has an old red steam engine at a crossroads, and the third is a bed floating in the middle of the ocean!!

There are more books in the series, i just never got to read them!

Thanks!

I don't really know if he is a mage, just that he's some old guy who has to help people with either magic or something. The girl is sent to live with him and become his apprentice. I can't for the life of me remember the title.

Trying to remember the title of a sad book I read many years ago. It takes place in England, perhaps London. A man passes by (or lives near) a home where a dog is kept tied up in a small space. I think it was a working dog, so it was going crazy being pent up.

So I read this book a while ago back it 7th or 8th grade, it was about this demonic carnival that they got sucked into. The book starts with these group of teenagers at the local carnival and I remember the main character has a younger brother who had a hat that had the middle finger and the younger brother loved the hat. The only other major part of the book I remember is while in the demonic carnival the main character finds himself in this mirror maze, where if you walk into a mirror you actually walk through it and the mirror changes you and if you walk through too many you bring to turn into a hideous monster. Which that what happens to his girlfriend. That's really all I can remember besides I think the book was call Thrill Ride, but I can't find anything like it online. Hope someone can help me out!

They start their relationship off very rocky but the boy is so kind that he starts to break down his uncle's walls and they form a close relationship. Please help me!

There was this book I read about 5-6 years ago. I could've sworn it was named "Pandora's Heart." But looking it up only yields results of the manga "Pandora Hearts".

The book was about a young girl living with a family friend,or something, due to her mother dying mysteriously. The girl soon discovers she's a powerful being called a "pandora" (from what I recall.) And has special abilities. I think it had something to do with her being able to strongly empathize with other's emotions, but my memory is really hazy. Anyway, so the girl, who's about a teenager, end up going on like this mission with her caretaker, who knew all along what she, and her mother was, to find out what really happened to her mother, and to hopefully keep the same thing from happening to herself.

The cover of the book was really simple. It was just like a sea-green cover that looked like, and had the effect of broken glass/a mirror. I was really fascinated by the texture of it when I was younger.

I really hope someone here can identify this book for me.

My friend read this book when he was a kid, maybe 30-35 years ago (or so).

A boy (teenager or younger) is dared to do something--perhaps an act of vandalism--to an old "scary" house. The man living there catches him, and somehow gets him to come back the next day. The man gives the boy a box to take home. When he gets it home, he messes with it, and that leaves some kind of black ink-like substance on his hands/fingers. When he tries to get the stuff off, it just spreads to everything he touches. He's worried about getting in trouble when his parents get home, but when they do, they don't see the mess.

The kid goes back to the man and the man tells him that now his mind is open to some kind of mental training the man intends to put him through. The kid learns to open doors in people's minds. Behind the mind door of the school bully, he sees a dying baby (meaning something like that the bully's inner self was a dying baby.) Behind his dad's mind door, he sees a teenager that never grew up.

This is as much as my friend revealed about the book. I would love to find this for him and make a surprise gift of it, as it was an important book to him when he was a kid. Thank you muchly for your time!

Book is about a little girl who is overly organized and neat. She is a teacher’s pet that is not well-liked by the other students, I think she’s in third grade. She has to sit next to or work on a project with the messy, wild girl in her class. At first they don’t get along but of course they end up becoming friends and helping each other and the neat girl learns to loosen up a bit and gets more friends in the process I think. I think she evens tries being messy herself at some point.

Images/things I remember:
-Book cover shows the neat girl with short hair and an upturned nose sort of look and the messy girl has curled red hair in a ponytail and is holding a binder and giving a crooked little smile.
-Neat girl is meticulous with organizing her binder and school supplies on her desk. When it rains, she is prepared and on top of her stuff. She has a thermos cup. Her bedroom is in the attic and she likes to pretend she is a princess in there.
-Messy girl is late to class and makes a mess from the rain on the neat girl. She brings a newt at some point.

I remembered as a kid the inner neat freak in me loved to read the descriptions of what the neat girl did so I could pretend to be as orderly as her and feel like I had my life together. Haha such a weird memory. I was reading an old, used book recently and the smell of the pages brought me back to this particular book for some reason!

Thanks for the help!

I'm hazy on a lot, but it is young adult sci-fi/romance ish. I think it starts out with a girl being attacked in the park and these boys save her. She is confused about how they were able to use some of their abilites - I think they made something appear or dissapear to save her. She then soon/later finds out by doing some digging that she as well has these abilities as it runs in the family. (which is why those guys that attacked her were after her - bc she has those abilites) I remember that the guys that saved her were there for a reason (to train her on her abilites). They take her to a warehouse in the middle of nowhere ( for safety) and it is extremly decked out with flats screens and pool tables and they have motorcycles that they all created with their mind. I remember one part of the book that really stuck with me was that in part of her training she is thrown into a deep ditch (that is a creation of one of the guys minds) and she has to manifest objects with her mind in order to get out of the hole. She freaks out and is like "why are they doing this to me", but it was to train her so that she is prepared for attacks. She also I believe has a love connection with one of the guys as well. I'm pretty sure its a series!!! And I would love to finish it because I don't believe I ever did!!!! I would be so appreciate if someone knows what book I am talking about. Thank you!!!!!

okay so long shot, I can remember a lot about this book (except the name, HA) so here it goes:
- highschoolers
-girl is a loner who wears gloves so she doesn't touch anybody as everybody she touches becomes covered in boils
-popular boy who can heal
-loner girl finds out his secret when he brings a dog who was run over back to life (might be loner girls dog, cant remember)
-popular boy going out with popular girl who turns out to have supernatural power that lets her make people fall in love/do what she wants
-popular girl eventually uses this power to make popular boy do something he doesnt want
-popular boy and loner girl fall in love (duh)\
-turns out popular boy, popular girl, loner girl reincarnations
-in past lives popular boy and loner girl always cursed to never end happily ever after
-cue back to present, popular boy gets shot as popular girl incites town to lash out at couple? (hazy on this part but I'm pretty sure he gets shot)
-ends with loner girl going Carrie on town (killing people left and right)
-somehow popular boy comes back to life
-hazy on how the book actually ends

so yeah if anybody knows, please enlighten me

A board book most likely published in the '90s.  A book of colors, using animals for each color (at least I think it was only animals?).  Each page had a picture that I'm wanting to say was in a style somewhat reminiscent of Eric Carle, in that the pictures were not solid colors, and a solid colored circle in the upper corner of the page.  Orange was definitely Orangutan, and there was either a page for Yellow Goldfish or Gold Fish (with a separate page for yellow). Leaning more toward Yellow Goldfish.  The book was smallish and square. I think the background of the cover and most or all of the pages was black.
