One story was about pigeons that give birth to a griffin.
Another was about children that discover a monster in a well that eats anything which is thrown down.

Presumably from the 80s or early 90s.

The cover depicted a child (a girl?) lying in bed surrounded by monsters from the stories. A red griffin perched at the foot of the bed.

I read this book as a teenager so I remember only a few bits and pieces, sorry. So here goes:

There's sort of 2 main characters: a girl who lives with her mom and younger sister whose family owns an old house by a lake. The second main character is a boy who lives right next to the old house by the lake.

The old house by the lake contains a mystery which both the boy and girl are trying to figure out. The girl sneaks out one night to visit the house (i think). She ends up in the neighbor boy's bedroom to hide or something, and the boy has to keep her under his bed to whole night.

I remember something about there being a lake monster and in the end you find out that the lake monster is actually the girl's father or uncle (some relative).

I can't remember the title but I do remember it being a long one, something like 5 to 7 words. And it was one of those "How to...", "A guide to...", or something along the lines of those types of titles.

PLEASE HELP ME!

I read these 2 books about 8ish years ago, so I don't remember the titles but I remember the details and google isn't helping me at all.
Book #1: All I can remember about this book is that it about a girl and a unicorn, they travel through a few tapestries. Not a picture book.
Book #2: I remember a lot more about this book. It is about a boy and a few friends who are in a town that has a door that is guarded in town that is separated by a stream or river with eels that eat people and their faces change based on the person's face that they ate. I think the book had a small leopard or something next to the door. I remember the door took them to like a fantasy place and he found like his uncle in there that he thought was dead.

Any help at all is extremely grateful, I've thought about this so much for the past few years.

I read the first one of this series between 2008 and 2009. The parts that I remember about it was that the main character was a virgin and somehow her being a virgin gave her abilities of some sort. early in the book she got drunk and had a one night stand, also there was a horse that ate a human in order to get three wishes one of which was the ability to digest meat so he wouldn't die, the other was the ability to breathe fire and the third was to be giant.

Help!

Ok I don't remember the author or the name of the book (obviously) but the premise of the plot is:

A YA adult novel. It's a particularly hot summer in NYC and the author describes how the trash and the buildings and the people all look like they're melting. Then he meets some girl (I forget how) and the two start a rock band together. While this is happening they begin to discover that there are underground wormy monsters hiding in the subways and making there way onto the above ground area of the city. The only thing that stops them is the voice/music of these kids. The ending (spoiler) is that they basically travel around the country to fight these monsters.

Please and thank you!

This one had to be late 70's early eighties.
Couple out hiking on vacation in another country.
finds a stone that looks to have a cameo type carving on one side.
they take it home and mysterious things start happening, they discover the rock turns into a small whitish dinosaur creature at night. at first it's cute they seem to want to hide and protect it, seems to really take to the wife's mothering, and there ok, till the deaths occur.
the creature retaliates for them..? anyway the soon find out it's best not to upset it.
I believe,The husband makes a decision to attempt to escape the house.
I remember the scene where he makes it to the car,and it steps in front, but he turns on the headlights and it immediately falls to the ground, having transformed back to the stone. foolishly he believes he's in the clear, drives forward, over the stone and the creatures clawed arm comes through the floor getting him. it was so sad because, although she's heard her husband die, the creature comes back into the house and lays it's head in her lap, she rubs it's head, while silently crying because she can't show any fear.
I believe it auto returned to you, and i also believe she wound up keeping a light trained on it 24/7.
the cover had the picture of a white oval stone, with some type of semi-vague carving of a face?
I use to read a lot of physiological horror, so as to have a story to convey to my nieces and nephews when they came to visit back then.
i really loved this one, because it was also compassionate.

My boyfriend remembers a picture book about animals that at first he said were dinosaurs, but later thought maybe they were creatures or monsters. They were mean to each other, some ate others, some breathed fire, and in the end a flower grew (maybe out of a fire) that they all hated. He read this in New England, USA. Hoping to surprise him for Christmas so any leads would be greatly appreciated!

So I read this book a while ago back it 7th or 8th grade, it was about this demonic carnival that they got sucked into. The book starts with these group of teenagers at the local carnival and I remember the main character has a younger brother who had a hat that had the middle finger and the younger brother loved the hat. The only other major part of the book I remember is while in the demonic carnival the main character finds himself in this mirror maze, where if you walk into a mirror you actually walk through it and the mirror changes you and if you walk through too many you bring to turn into a hideous monster. Which that what happens to his girlfriend. That's really all I can remember besides I think the book was call Thrill Ride, but I can't find anything like it online. Hope someone can help me out!
