Good afternoon! I have been searching for days without any results for a youth fiction book, where the protagonist lives in a world where her memories are reset through a chip, women are forced to separate from men and do not know them, When the protagonist meets a men, she mistakes him for a cat.
It is a book that I have very good memories of :( if you help me I would appreciate it very much!!

Memories reset through a chip make me think of Monica Hughes, but the rest of it doesn't sound right.

(and there is another author I confuse with Monica Hughes, if I remember who I'll go check my shelves)
