Without any of the comics ready to hand, I'm trying to determine the specific story in which the Freak Brothers visit a public library; Fat Freddy, demonstrating his usual level of social housebreaking, loudly demands to see the "fuck books." The librarian, a prissily buttoned-down stereotype, frostily informs him that the library does not and will never carry fuck books; Freddy, firmly convinced that she's holding out on him, thereupon launches a riot to "LIBERATE THE FUCK BOOKS!"
(Psst, Freddy? Try checking under 155.3, 613.9, and/or 808.803538--and an indoor voice and some rudimentary manners wouldn't hurt.)
ETA 5 December 2024: it’s “The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers go to COLLEGE!”, from The Collected Adventures of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers #1 (1971; Rip Off Press), by Gilbert Shelton.

(sorry, I just had to say that!)
And this is one reason I hang onto nearly two decades’ worth of cybercorrespondence.)
