I haven’t read this book myself but my coworker described it to me and it sounds fascinating. However, he can’t remember the title or author. All he can tell me is that it is about an alternate reality in which the Pilgrims assimilated to Native American culture when they landed in North America, instead of the other way around. The book is set in the modern day and shows what the country would be like now had this happened. I know it’s pretty vague but that’s all he can give me and I’d really like to find it and read it! Thanks!

I went digging, and the closest I could find was Kim Stanley Robinson's The Years of Rice and Salt, but I don't think that's it, from the description.

Definitely not the right one, but in the setting of His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik, the Americas have a plague that afflicts European dragons... In the ebook compilation of short stories that followed the main series, there's some stuff about American dragons, who are apparently more like the native americans.

Lion's Blood by Steven Barnes is another one that might scratch the itch, but really doesn't sound like the exact one you're looking for.

Anything on this page look likely?

One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd By Jim Fergus?

https://althistory.livejournal.com/38668.html lists some, though I'm still not finding an exact match. The comments seem to have some stuff in them, too, though, so you might luck out. ("Wheel of If"?)

Good luck!

Hey, that sounds interesting and fun reading. If you find it, please post it here, best as a separate post (with maybe a backlink to here and maybe a forelink from here to there).
