findthatbookI can't remember very much about the book, mainly because I skimmed basically the whole thing instead of actually reading it, and I may be getting some of these details confused with another book.
So, this woman, the female main character, gets attacked by an evil shifter, I'm pretty sure it was some type of big cat. It infected her, and if you let the animal take over it wants to kill everyone.
I think the male main character was royalty or just someone important and was sent out with a group to kill the evil shifter. It might have been set in a different world of earlier time period because they rode horses and carried swords. The male MC had a second in command who was together with a warrior woman (who may have been fae) also in the hunting party. They find the woman who was attacked and take her back with them to their village/town/camp.
So the two main characters obviously fall in love, but the female MC is also sometimes attracted to the second in command who has taken over training her so that the evil shifter in her doesn't take over when she gets angry.
While they are training one day while the male Mc is gone she loses control and shifts. The second puts her in a cage and is going to kill her if they can't convince her to shift back. Right when he is about to kill her the male MC returns, they out her in the dungeon or something instead, and the male MC gets her to change back b/c he is the only one who can get through to her.
So later on near the end the male MC is seriously injured and the female learns that these people are connected in a magic way and they can heal each other through sex, so if she has lots of sex with the second it will heal her man. She doesn't want to do it at first b/c she feels it is betraying him, but the second tells her it's okay to sleep with someone else to heal in their society as long as they only give their hearts to their true love or whatever.
So they have lots of sex in many different positions, and it heals the main guy who wakes up during the last time, so they get him involved, too in a menage scene.
